19 kg gold worth Rs 13.6 crore robbed in Telangana bank heist – Telangana News


In a major heist, burglars stole over 19 kg of gold ornaments worth Rs 13.6 crore from a public sector bank in Rayaparthy mandal, Warangal district in Telangana, police said on Wednesday.

The incident came to light on Tuesday when the bank staff discovered the break-in and reported it to the authorities. According to the police, the burglars used gas cutters to break in and access the bank’s main chest, where the gold was stored.

Additionally, the burglars damaged the CCTV camera system and stole the digital video recorder, erasing any potential visual evidence of the crime.

Following the incident, the police registered a case and launched an extensive investigation. Four teams were formed to track down the perpetrators.
