50 Zilla Parishad High School students fall ill after eating mid-day meal in Telangana, 8 critical – Telangana News


Around 50 students of the Zilla Parishad High School in Maganur Mandal Centre in Telangana’s Narayanpet district, fell ill on Monday after consuming mid-day meal provided at the institution, officials said.

The incident occurred around 3 pm, leaving eight students in a critical condition. They are currently undergoing treatment at the Maktal Government Hospital.

As per the information, the students fainted on school benches after complaining of nausea and vomiting. Some students alleged that the rice served in the mid-day meal was uncooked, raising questions about the quality and safety of the food provided by school authorities.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inquired about the incident and directed state officials to provide the best treatment for the students.

The District Collector has been asked to find out the cause of the incident, investigate the matter and submit a report to the chief minister’s office. The government has vowed to take appropriate action against those responsible for this incident.
