Man working in Kuwait kills relative in Andhra Andhra Pradesh for molesting his daughter, blames police inaction

An immigrant worker from Kuwait has confessed to killing a 59-year-old physically disabled man in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya district, alleging the victim had molested his 12-year-old daughter.

The father, identified as Anjaneya Prasad, posted a video on a social media platform from Kuwait explaining his actions and pledging to surrender.

Prasad and his wife, Chandrakala, were working in Kuwait, while their young daughter stayed with Chandrakala’s sister Lakshmi and her husband Venkataramana. The accused, Gutta Anjaneyulu, was Venkataramana’s father.

The situation began when Prasad’s wife learned of the alleged misconduct while the couple’s daughter was staying with relatives. Chandrakala then filed a complaint at the Obulavaripalli police station, but the family claims the police only issued a warning to Anjaneyulu.

Upset by the perceived lack of action, Prasad returned to India on December 7, 2024. Anjaneyulu was later found dead, with Prasad reportedly returning to Kuwait shortly after. In a video statement, Prasad claimed responsibility for the death and stated he acted in defense of his daughter.

The police, who initially registered the incident as a suspicious death, have now launched a deeper investigation into Prasad’s statement and the circumstances of the case.
