A day after challenging the election of Priyanka Gandhi from the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in the Kerala High Court, BJP leader Navya Das on Sunday claimed that the Congress MP did not disclose details about her and her family’s assets in the nomination papers.
Speaking with news agency ANI, Navya Haridas, who lost against her Congress rival by over 5 lakh votes in the recent Wayanad Lok Sabha bypolls, said, “We filed an election petition yesterday in the High Court against Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. It clearly states that the nomination papers were misleading, and many important things were hidden from the nomination papers, like the assets of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her family that are missing in the nomination papers.”
The BJP leader claimed that Priyanka Gandhi’s nomination papers were “misleading,” which stands against the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
When asked about the Court’s status on the petition, Haridas said that the case is expected to be taken up for the hearing in January next year, as the High Court will be on vacation till January 5.
Gandhi secured her maiden electoral victory in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypolls with 6,22,338 votes. Her rival, Haridas, came third with 1,09,939 votes.
