Actor Vijay: Target of two crore new members, women participation on Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s agenda

Actor Thalapathy Vijay, who recently floated his own party named Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, instructed his party colleagues to work towards the expansion of the party unit. In an ambitious goal, the party president has instructed his colleagues to reach the target of two crore new members in the party and also called for active participation of women and first-time voters.

The party is also set to announce an exclusive women-led membership wing which will be coordinated by district and Assembly in-charge, respectively.

“We must endeavour to ensure that the general public, including first-time and women voters, become active members of our party,” Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s headquarters announced.

The party convened a consultation meeting in Chennai on Monday wherein an agenda for the membership and expansion of its structure was underlined.

Vijay, the party supremo, has asked his party colleagues to conduct a district and Assembly-wise membership drive to strengthen the party at its grassroots.

The party’s directives also included the identification and segregation of voters based on their political party affiliations. A mobile application will also be made available soon for the membership drive to ensure that general voters, first-time voters, and women voters associate with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party.

Actor Vijay announced his entry into politics on February 2, vouching for his commitment to “fundamental political change” with transparent, caste-free, and corruption-free administration.

Though his party will give the upcoming Lok Sabha elections a miss, the actor had announced that the party would contest the 2026 Tamil Assembly elections.
