Ajit Doval meets French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris


National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Tuesday met French President Emmanuel Macron on the second day of his two-day visit to France. Doval conveyed PM Modi’s greetings to Macron and reiterated commitment to implement the ‘Horizon 2047’ roadmap.

Macron also stressed the value of efforts to advance peace and address global challenges.

The Horizon 2047 roadmap is a long-term strategic plan that strengthens India and France’s bilateral partnership, especially as they approach the 100th anniversary of India’s independence. The roadmap focuses on cooperation in several key areas, including, defense and security, space and clean energy.

On his visit to Paris for the India-France Strategic Dialogue, Ajit Doval engaged in discussions with Emmanuel Bonne, Diplomatic Advisor to Macron. The talks covered key areas of bilateral cooperation and strategic importance, further strengthening the relationship between the two nations.

Ajit Doval also met French Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu. Their dialogue aimed at deepening bilateral defence cooperation and advancing space collaboration, while also sharing insights on the evolving international geopolitical landscape.

According to sources, Ajit Doval is in Paris to discuss the Rafale deal after France submitted the final detailed offer for the Indian Navy’s fighter aircraft fleet.

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has already given its approval for the purchase, paving the way for a significant boost to India’s naval arsenal.
