Bihar floor test: Nitish Kumar JDU party accuses RJD of bid to poach MLAs, case filed

After winning the floor test in the Bihar Assembly on Monday, the Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) lodged a complaint against opposition RJD MLAs, accusing them of attempting to poach the ruling coalition MLAs.

JD(U) MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar filed a police complaint against Sunil, a close aide of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, accusing him of attempting to bribe and kidnap their two MLAs — Bima Bharti and Dilip Rai.

According to Shekhar, an offer of Rs 10 crore was made to the MLAs to join the Opposition ranks. The MLAs were also offered a ministerial post, according to Shekhar.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC.

On Monday, the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government won the crucial floor test in Bihar with the support of as many as 129 MLAs, including three from the opposition RJD.

Nitish Kumar had recently dumped the ‘Mahagathbandhan’, of which the RJD was a key constituent, and returned to the NDA fold to form the government with the support of the BJP.
