Class 9 girl student faints in classroom, dies in Tamil Nadu’s Ranipet – Tamil Nadu News


A 14-year-old school student, Advitha, fainted during class and died on Tuesday in Ranipet in Tamil Nadu.

The incident occurred at a private school located on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 44). Around 11.30 am, Advitha, a Class IX student, collapsed while attending class, resting briefly on a classmate’s shoulder before falling to the ground.

Teachers immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Melvisharam, where doctors declared her “brought dead”.

Police investigations revealed that the student, daughter of Dr K Vasanthakumar, Head of Dermatology at the Vellore Government Medical College Hospital, had been undergoing treatment for cardiac issues.

The Kaveripakkam police retrieved the body, sent it for post-mortem at the Vellore Government Hospital, and are continuing their inquiry.

CCTV footage from the classroom captured the entire incident, where her classmate alerts the teacher after Advitha faints on her shoulder. The teacher is seen rushing to the student trying to help her, while her classmates run to get more help.

Further investigation is underway.
