Farmers protest: Farmers under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, backed by over 200 farm unions, will march to Delhi on February 13 to press the Centre to accept several demands, including the enactment of a law to guarantee a minimum support price (MSP) for crops. Ahead of the protest, the farmers, primarily from Punjab and Haryana, are expected to leave for Delhi on Monday. Elaborate security arrangements and restrictions have been placed in the national capital and on the Delhi-Haryana and Haryana-Punjab borders. The Haryana government has also imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC, banning the assembly of five or more people.
