Farmers’ protest: Punjab farmers to leave today for ‘Delhi-Chalo’ march, Delhi, Haryana borders sealed


Farmers will march to Delhi on February 13 to press the Centre to accept several demands, including enactment of a law to guarantee MSP for crops. Samyukta Kisan Morcha leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal claimed more than 200 farmers’ unions from across the country will participate in the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march.

Ahead of the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march by farmer unions, authorities in Haryana and Delhi fortified their borders with neighbouring states by putting up concrete blocks, road spike barriers and barbed wires to prevent the entry of vehicles and deploying thousands of police personnel, besides imposing prohibitory orders.

  • Farmers from neighbouring states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab are expected to enter Delhi on February 13 following their proposed ‘Delhi Chalo March’, demanding a law guaranteeing a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce.
