Farmers’ protest: ‘We will adjust,’ says Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on lawyers’ travel issues

Even as massive traffic jams were witnessed at the Delhi borders with Gurugram and Noida on Tuesday due to the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest today, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud has said that “If any lawyer is facing any travel difficulty, we will adjust,” reported Live Law.

Police have put up concrete barricades to check vehicles entering the national capital, and a traffic jam of more than 1 km was seen on the Delhi-Meerut highway at Gazipur border with vehicles queued up on the route today.

Over 200 farmers’ unions are en route to the national capital for the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, aiming to urge the Centre to accede to their demands, including a guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP).

A crucial meeting between farmer leaders and Union ministers concluded without a resolution late Monday night, prompting farmers to proceed with their ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest today.
