A fire broke out at a 220 kv substation in Siddipet town in Telangana after an explosion on Wednesday evening. No casualties have been reported in the incident so far.
Four fire engines have been deployed and firefighters have been working for over three hours to put out the fire.
Siddipet MLA Harish Rao and Dubbaka MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy rushed to the spot after hearing about the incident.
Harish Rao spoke to fire stations in Gajwel, Dubbaka and Husnabad and has asked for fire engines to be brought to the spot as soon as possible.
Addressing the press, MLA Rao said, “We got information about the fire at the substation at around 6 pm in the evening and called officials to take stock of the situation. I also spoke with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, informed him about the incident and requested him to take steps to restore power at the earliest. He has responded positively. The fire is yet to be brought under control.”
Recently, around 10 people were injured after a fire broke out in the Pashamailaram industrial area in Sangareddy in Telangana on February 14.
