At least four people died and 15 others were injured after a truck collided with a bus in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
The incident happened at the Musunur toll plaza in Nellore when a truck, carrying livestock, lost control and collided with another truck carrying iron. Due to the impact of the collision, the iron-laden truck lost control and hit the passenger bus which was coming from the opposite direction.
Following the incident, police officials rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to a government hospital for medical attention, while the dead were sent for postmortem.
Speaking about the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the Kavali area, Venkataramana, said, “A truck transporting livestock from Hyderabad to Srikalahasti lost control near Kavali and collided with the truck in front, loaded with iron. The driver of the travel bus and another person succumbed to their injuries on the spot. The remaining individuals involved in the accident were injured and subsequently shifted to Kavali Hospital for treatment”.
Earlier last month, at least three people died, and several others were injured in when two cars collided head-on in Andhra Pradesh’s Devarapalli Mandal.
