After weeks of heated political exchanges with the BJP, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a much-needed break on Sunday to spend quality time with their family. The Gandhis visited Kwality Restaurant, a renowned culinary landmark in Delhi’s bustling Connaught Place, for a relaxing meal.
Accompanying Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, were his mother Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka’s husband Robert Vadra, their daughter Miraya Vadra, and Robert Vadra’s mother.
The Gandhi family relished a spread of dishes, including the restaurant’s famous chole bhature, enjoying moments of togetherness away from the political spotlight.
Rahul Gandhi shared several photos of the family on his Instagram account. The images showed the family sitting together, smiling, and enjoying their meal.
In one of the pictures, Robert Vadra could be seen with a large serving of bhatura, while in another, Sonia Gandhi also appeared to be smiling with her gaze fixed on the fluffy bhatura in front of her.
“Family lunch at the iconic Kwality Restaurant,” Rahul wrote, adding, “Try the Chole Bhature if you go”.
The gathering was notable not only for the family’s rare moment of togetherness, but also because it showcased three parliamentarians in one photo: Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Sonia Gandhi, the former Congress president.
Kwality restaurant, which has been a popular spot for decades, has a rich history and is known for its multi-continental dishes. The chole bhature served there has remained a crowd favourite, attracting many celebrities over the years, including the late actress Nargis.
