IndiGo passenger who hit pilot was going to Goa for honeymoon: Delhi Police sources

As per the Delhi Police sources, the accused in the Indigo Brawl Case, Sahil Kataria, during the initial course of the investigation said that he got married 5 months back and was on his way for honeymoon to Goa.

He said that the endless delay coupled with his tour plan made him reckless.

Kataria was deboarded from the flight and handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) after he slapped an IndiGo pilot during the announcement. The flight which took off from New Delhi at 6 pm, was late for more than 10 hours due to intense fog, which caused hassles to many passengers.

A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against him by the pilot. Since the charges were bailable, he was released after a few hours.

After his release, Sahil shared his own version of the incident, in which he said that the pilots misled him and several other passengers by not giving them proper information regarding the take-off. This he said, eventually triggered him, and he went on to physically assault the pilot.

Several users on social media expressed their anguish over Kataria’s actions, and demanded stern action against him.

However, a few onlookers who witnessed the incident backed Kataria, saying that the pilot not only instigated the man, but made the passengers wait for nearly 12 hours inside the plane.

The Delhi-Goa IndiGo 6E2175 flight was amongst several flights that got delayed on January 15, due to low visibility.
