Karnataka MLA HD Revanna walks out of jail in kidnapping case: ‘Will come out clean’

Karnataka JDS MLA and former minister HD Revanna, who was released on bail on Tuesday in a kidnapping case, refuted the charges against him and asserted that he will “come out of the allegations”.

A Special Investigation Team had arrested Revanna on May 5 in the kidnapping case linked to the sexual abuse charges against his son and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.

“I have huge respect for the judicial system. For the last 11 days, I have been following the judicial order. I won’t say anything more. I have faith in God. I will come out clean of these allegations. I respect the judicial system and will follow their orders,” HD Revanna said as he walked out of the jail after six days.

Revanna was released earlier today from the Parappana Agrahara prison in Bangalore after securing conditional bail from a Special Court for Elected Representatives on Monday.

As the 66-year-old son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda walked free after spending six days in jail, his supporters greeted him with slogans, and a large convoy of vehicles followed him. Revanna visited his father and later visited temples.

The case was registered following a complaint by the woman’s son, who alleged that his mother was sexually abused by Prajwal.

The woman was allegedly abducted to prevent her from testifying against Prajwal, police sources have said.

Meanwhile, Prajwal Revanna, whose explicit videos of alleged sexual abuse went viral, prompting an SIT probe, is reportedly abroad, evading arrest.

Interpol has issued a Blue Corner Notice against the 33-year-old NDA candidate from the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, who reportedly left the country on April 27, a day after the elections.
