The BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra announced the portfolio allocation on Saturday. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will retain the Home Ministry, while NCP leader Ajit Pawar will handle the Finance and Planning departments.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, who had reportedly expressed interest in the Home department, has been assigned portfolios including Urban Development, Housing, and Public Works (Public Enterprises).
