Mariah Carey says she doesn’t want a lot for Christmas, but she is getting so much more off the success of her humble, chart-busting Christmas song.

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” has peaked to the No. 1 slot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for the third year in a row. Carey’s Christmas carol was first released in 1994 and hit No. 1 for the first time in more than 20 years in 2019. With growing popularity, the song hit No. 1 again in 2020, and now it’s ringing at the top once more.

The song is the first to do this three separate times after breaking a tie with Chubby Checker’s 1960 dance hit “The Twist” which shot up to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960 and again in 1962.

The 52-year-old songstress celebrated the news while on vacation with her family in Aspen, Colorado, and enjoyed the success with mimosas and a handwritten card from her daughter Monroe.

“I can’t even know what to say. The kids just woke me up with confetti,” she said in a voice note on Twitter Monday. “To have another Billboard Hot 100 with a song that means so much to me … I literally don’t know what to say and I’m just so thankful.”

Carey added that she appreciates her fans, dubbed the “lambily,” for supporting the song “through good times (and) bad times.”

As she was preparing for her ascension to Christmas chart glory, she told USA TODAY in November that she has a “special connection” with the holiday and while it seems the rest of the world loves her song the most, she has other favorites.

“I listen to a playlist of thousands of Christmas songs from so many different albums that not everyone may know,” she said. “I love the ‘Jackson 5 Christmas Album,’ always Nat King Cole and one of my favorites, Donny Hathaway. Even ‘The Chipmunk Song’ is on the playlist!”

More Christmas songs dangle closely behind “All I Want For Christmas,” such as Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” which stands as No. 2 and Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” sits as No. 4. Adele is still “holding on” with “Easy on Me” resting at No. 3, which held the top spot before Carey’s takeover.
