Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that residents of Delhi “have decided” to elect AAP candidates from all seven Lok Sabha seats.
Addressing a gathering in Tarn Taran in Punjab, he said, “They are stopping me in Punjab and in Delhi as well. They don’t allow me to do any work. This time, the people of Delhi have decided that they will elect AAP candidates from all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.”
In a massive setback to the INDIA bloc, the Chief Minister said on Saturday that his party would also contest all the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and Chandigarh.
“Lok Sabha elections will be held in two months. For the Lok Sabha elections, Punjab has 13 seats and one from Chandigarh – a total of 14 seats. In the next 10–15 days, AAP will declare its candidates in all of these 14 seats. You have to make AAP sweep all these 14 seats with a majority,” Kejriwal had said during his speech in Punjab’s Khanna on Saturday.
Recently, AAP MP Sandeep Pathak had said that the party would contest on three seats in Assam for the Lok Sabha elections, after talks with the INDIA bloc failed to reach a breakthrough.
However, he had added that AAP was “completely with the INDIA alliance” and had urged them to expedite the seat negotiation process.
Last month, TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had alleged that the Congress had “rejected her seat-sharing proposals” and said that there would be no alliance with Congress in West Bengal.
