Speaking at the event commemorating 10 years of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the inauguration of cleanliness projects valued at Rs 10,000 crore. He highlighted that under Mission Amrut, various cities will see the establishment of water and sewage treatment plants. Additionally, initiatives like Namami Gange and the ‘Govardhan’ plant, which produces biogas from waste, will elevate the Swachh Bharat Mission to greater heights. PM Narendra Modi stated, “A thousand years from now, when the 21st-century history of India will be studied, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan will be remembered. In this century, Swachh Bharat stands as the world’s largest and most successful people’s movement, driven by and participated in by the citizens.”
