A 17-year-old girl, who had visited Vellakovil in Tamil Nadu to attend a religious procession, was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by seven men.
All the accused individuals have been arrested by cops.
On March 9, the girl visited the village to attend the Veerakumarasamy temple chariot festival when she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by the accused men.
Following a complaint from the girl’s family, two special teams of Tamil Nadu police were formed. The teams arrested a 32-year-old accused from Kamarajapurqm and the other 29-year-old accused.
Subsequently, the remaining arrests were made by the authorities.
Further investigation is underway.
