Telangana: Clinics of ‘fake’ medical practitioners raided, medicines worth Rs 2 lakh seized


The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials on Tuesday raided clinics of two individuals posing as Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs) in Telangana.

The targeted clinics were operated by Ismail in Khammam District, and G Nageshwar Rao in Sangareddy District. These individuals were found to be practising medicine without the necessary qualifications or licences.

The DCA’s operation unveiled a substantial stockpile of various medicines being stored illegally at these premises.

A total of 150 varieties of drugs, including antibiotics, analgesics, anti-ulcer drugs, and antihypertensives, were discovered during the raid.

Notably, the officials also came across several higher generation antibiotic injections among the seized items. The total worth of the confiscated medicines amounted to Rs 2.30 lakh.
