Telangana: Medchal Malkajgiri official, his driver caught accepting Rs 30 lakh bribe


A Tehsildar and his driver in Telangana’s Medchal Malkajgiri were caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while they were accepting Rs 30 lakh bribe.

In a statement by ACB, Tehsildar Thodeti Satyanarayana and his driver P Bhadri were caught at the Tehsildar office in Shamirpet Mandal, Medchal Malkajgiri.

They were caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh cash from the complainant, Movva Ramaseshagiri Rao.

According to the ACB, the bribe was in exchange for writing a favourable report and forwarding the file to the Collector for issuing pattadar passbooks related to the complainant’s lands.

The Tehsildar had demanded Rs 10 lakh in cash and Rs 20 lakh in cheque.

The cash and cheque were recovered from the possession of Bhadri, who admitted to receiving it under the instructions of the Tehsildar.
