The BJP has slammed the ruling Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal after three sadhus from Uttar Pradesh were attacked on Thursday when they were on their way to the Gangasagar Mela.
The BJP alleged that the TMC was “making life difficult” for Hindus in the state and compared the incident to the 2020 Palghar mob lynching.
The sadhus – a man and his two sons, had hired a vehicle to reach Gangasagar for the Makar Sankranti festival. As they inquired about the route, some locals became suspicious, leading to an agitated crowd accusing them of kidnapping. They further assaulted the sadhus.
