A unique love story has captured the attention of social media users as two women from Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district tied the knot, after one underwent a gender change to marry the other. The unconventional wedding has sparked widespread discussion online.
The daughter of a jewellery trader from Sarai Meera in Kannauj married her partner, a beauty parlour owner, on November 25. To make this union possible, the trader’s daughter underwent a gender change, spending approximately Rs 7 lakh on the procedures.
She also changed her name to reflect her new identity before formalising the marriage.
Their love story traces back to 2020 when the two first met at the jewellery shop owned by the trader’s family. The beauty parlour owner had come to purchase jewellery, marking the beginning of their acquaintance. Over time, their friendship deepened, eventually blossoming into love. With their families’ consent, they decided to marry.
Reports indicate that the trader’s daughter has undergone three gender reassignment surgeries and is preparing for a fourth to complete her transformation into a male appearance.
