Protesting farmers, rallying towards Delhi to assert their demands, threw a police barricade from a flyover at Shambu on the Punjab-Haryana border. In view of the farmers’ protest, tear gas shells were deployed, leading to the detention of several farmers at the Shambhu border, as police sealed off all entry points with concrete barriers, barricades, and barbed wire to impede the ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement.
Thousands of farmers embarked on a march towards Delhi, urging the Centre to heed their demands, including a law ensuring a minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
