A sleepy driver’s momentary lapse led to an accident at a local eatery in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore, where a woman was violently thrown into the air after a car crashed into the roadside establishment.
The mishap, which occurred on February 11, was caught on CCTV camera, and the footage has since gone viral.
The video shows a Hyundai Grand i10 suddenly ploughing into the eatery owned by Palani from Pennathur, sending Sayisha, a woman who was waiting there, flying through the air due to the impact.
Authorities identified the driver as Karthik, who was on his way back from Sitheri when the crash happened.
According to police, Karthik had been suffering from sleep deprivation for two days prior to the accident. While driving through Pennathur, he hit a speed breaker at high speed, lost control of his vehicle, and subsequently crashed into the eatery.
