Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president YS Sharmila fired back at Jagan Mohan Reddy calling YSRCP the truly insignificant party.
Her response came a day after the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister dismissed Congress as an “insignificant” party.
Sharmila criticised Jagan’s governance in a post on X, accusing the YSRCP of being “all talk, no action” and labelling it as the true “insignificant” party in the state.
Sharmila reminded Jagan that the Congress party was a much larger party and existed long before his birth.
In a post on X, Sharmila said, “Even with 38 percent support, the YSRCP MLAs lack the courage to speak on the assembly floor about people’s issues.” She argued that the public did not elect Jagan Mohan Reddy and his MLAs “to sit at home” and accused the party of failing to address pressing matters in the state legislature.
Sharmila went on to demand that all 11 YSRCP MLAs immediately resign if they cannot actively represent their constituents in the assembly. “If you have integrity, make the assembly tremble on anti-government policies. YCP MLAs should resign and go for re-elections if they can’t speak up,” she stated.
“Why isn’t he and his party attending the assembly? Despite winning 11 seats, why has YSRCP boycotted the assembly?” she said.
She implied that Jagan’s significance lies only in his ability to attack others, particularly on social media. “Abusing women or anyone on social media is a real issue,” she stated, adding that it has been a prevalent problem, not just recently but throughout the last five years during Jagan’s tenure as Chief Minister.
She also said that the Congress held a press meet before the YSRCP to address the flaws in the state budget. She accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of saying the exact same things during his press meet discussing the budget.
These statements from Sharmila come one day after Jagan dismissed his sister, saying “let’s not talk about her.”
