A seven-year-old girl was critically injured after she was attacked by an American Bulldog. The incident happened in Delhi’s Rohini area, on January 9.
According to the details, the girl was playing outside her house with other children at nearly 5 pm, when the dog, belonging to one of the neighbours, attacked her.
The incident was reported by the girl’s father, who said his daughter received injuries to her right shoulder and some other areas.
Based on his complaint, a case was registered on January 12, under Sections 289/337 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Meanwhile, residents in the area on January 15, protested against the incident.
The incident has again highlighted the issue of stray dogs in Delhi, with several such incidents being reported from different parts of the national capital.
In the recent past, there have been several incidents where stray dogs have attacked and even killed people.
In March last year, two siblings, aged five and seven respectively, were attacked in separate incidents in Delhi’s Ruchi Vihar and succumbed to injuries.
