Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that reforms in the taxation system improved government tax collections and this helped in reducing poverty during the past 10 years of his governance. PM Modi was citing a recent NITI Aayog report which states that 24.8 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in the nine years leading up to 2022-23.
