Two BJP workers were arrested for allegedly manufacturing fake Mysore Sandal soaps in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has alleged that the individuals involved in producing fake Mysore Sandal soaps are associated with the BJP. The minister has also made an accusation that the BJP is benefiting financially from this counterfeit racket.
The two accused, Rakesh Jain and Mahaveer Jain, identified as BJP workers, were photographed with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other BJP leaders, including Raja Singh and Manikam Rathod, alleged Minister Priyank Kharge while presenting their photographs.
The operation was initiated based on a tip-off received by Karnataka Industries Minister MB Patil through an anonymous phone call.
The police were alerted, and cooperation was sought from Telangana Deputy Chief Minister.
“Our police posed as businessmen, met these counterfeit manufacturers, and attempted to negotiate a deal for a substantial order. The officers indicated they would visit the shop in person due to the order’s magnitude. After locating it, the factory was raided and seized,” said Minister Priyank Kharge.
Kharge demanded an immediate explanation from Leader of Opposition (LoP) R Ashok and BJP state President Vijayendra on this matter.
Expressing frustration with the BJP, Minister Priyank Kharge stated, “Mysore sandal soap is the pride of Karnataka. BJP will go to any extent and stoop lower to make money.”
