As part of the 25 constituencies in Andhra Pradesh getting ready for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, one key zone taking spotlight is Vizianagaram district. Featuring over 7 assembly constituencies and one Lok Sabha seat, Vizianagaram is a historic district, having been one of the first to be formed during the state’s creation. It houses vibrant water bodies including the Nagavali, and is home to roughly 22 lakh citizens. The district’s current Lok Sabha seat holder, Bellana Chandrasekhar of the ruling YSRCP, may be reconsidered for holding the position, while the TDP-Janasena alliance is in the process of choosing their candidate. Vizianagaram is also recognized for its captivating tourist locations, such as Ramatheertham, a site adorned with monuments and relics influenced by Buddhism, Jainism and Hindu scriptures.
