North India to see rise in temperatures, light rain likely in Uttar Pradesh


In its latest weather bulletin, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Delhi will enjoy a clear sky on Sunday, with mist in the morning. On Saturday, the national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius, while the maximum stood at 23.6 degrees.

The temperatures in Delhi are, however, predicted to increase by at least two notches on Sunday.

The bulletin said parts of northwest, east, central and west India will also witness an increase in the minimum temperatures by 3-5 degrees during the next five days.

Besides Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the IMD said parts of Jharkhand and West Bengal are also likely to receive light rain from February 12 to 14.

The weather department has also predicted light intensity thunderstorms accompanied by lightning over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on Sunday and Monday (February 12) and in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal between February 13 and 14.

In the south, Telangana is likely to receive isolated rainfall on Sunday.

On Saturday, cold wave conditions continued in parts of Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

The highest maximum temperature on Saturday of 38.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kannur, Kerala.
