The India Today Mood of the Nation poll 2024 revealed that 44 per cent of respondents considered Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be India’s best prime minister to date.
The Mood of the Nation’s February 2024 edition is based on a survey of 35,801 respondents in all Lok Sabha seats. The poll was conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 28, 2024. Health warning: Opinion polls can get it wrong.
In contrast, 15 percent expressed their preference for Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Interestingly, 14 per cent of participants regarded late Indira Gandhi as the best prime minister of India, while 11 per cent selected Manmohan Singh as their preferred leader.
India Today Mood of the Nation 2024 survey also revealed what Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure would be remembered most for.
Going by the survey, 42 per cent of the respondents said the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony, conducted on January 22 this year, was the major highlight of the Narendra Modi government.
PM Modi was the chief yajman of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and led the rituals during the ceremony. Notably, the construction of a Ram Mandir was one of the major poll planks of the BJP in its election manifestos over the years.
Apart form this, 19 per cent of the respondents credited PM Modi for raising India’s global stature, while 12% of the respondents said the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir was another positive highlight of the Narendra Modi government.
Other than this, 9 per cent of respondents credited PM Modi for surgical strikes on Pakistan, 6 per cent on demonetisation, 6 per cent for Covid-19 management, and 5 per cent for fight against corruption.
