PM Narendra Modi prays at Andhra’s Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi for India’s health, prosperity ahead of Ram Mandir consecration ceremony


Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday and offered prayers there.

Sharing pictures of his visit, the Prime Minister said in a post on X, “For all those who are devotees of Prabhu Shri Ram, Lepakshi holds great significance. Today, I had the honour of praying at the Veerbhadra Temple. I prayed that the people of India be happy, healthy and scale new heights of prosperity.”

PM Modi also listened to verses from the Ranganatha Ramayan at the temple in Telugu, ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir on January 22.

“At the Veerbhadra Temple, Lepakshi, heard the Ranganatha Ramayana and also saw a puppet show on the Ramayan,” he said in another post on X.

It is said that Lepakshi is the place where Jatayu fell, after having been grievously wounded by Ravan, who was abducting Sita.
