Rajasthan: Four including main accused arrested in 2020 JEN paper leak case

Four government employees in Rajasthan were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the 2020 Junior Engineer (JEN) examination paper leak case. A total of 24 individuals have been arrested in the case so far.

Among them, five are exam takers, while 19 are either members of the paper-leaking gang or coaching operators linked to the gang.

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board conducted the JEN exam on December 6, 2020, at various examination centres. The exam was cancelled by the board after discovering that the question paper had been leaked prior to the exam.

A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for information leading to the arrest of Patwari Harshvardhan, the main accused in the case.

Based on intelligence inputs, a team from the Special Operations Group of Rajasthan Police arrested Harshvardhan and a policeman at the Nepal border.

The policeman, identified as Sub Inspector Rajendra Kumar Yadav alias Raju, is 30 years old.

The other two arrested individuals were Rajendra Kumar Yadav, aged 55 and a teacher, and Shivratan Mot, aged 30 and a librarian. All four had leaked the paper from a Jaipur government school and sold it to the candidates, an official told news agency PTI.
