Tamil Nadu bus conducted thrashed by 5 men after altercation with female passenger in Trichy

A conductor of a privately-owned bus was assaulted by a group of five men following an altercation with a passenger in Tamil Nadu’s Trichy district. The incident, captured by a CCTV camera inside the bus, occurred on Saturday evening.

The bus, traveling from Chathiram to Thuvakudi, witnessed the altercation when a female passenger missed her stop at Varaganeri Chulaikarai Mariyamman temple.

The conductor, identified as Mookaiyan, dropped her off a bit further from her intended destination, sparking a dispute between the passenger and the conductor.

Upon the bus’s return to Chathiram bus stand, the five men boarded the bus and attacked the conductor, alleging that he had verbally abused the woman passenger. The assailants also attempted to snatch the conductor’s cash bag after assaulting him.

The conductor was rescued by female passengers who intervened and stood between him and the attackers. The conductor filed a complaint with the Gandhi Market Police, who have launched an investigation into the incident.
