Uma Bharti exclusive: BJP leader speaks about Ram Mandir event, Sonia Gandhi and Opposition boycott

BJP leader Umar Bharti, a key member of the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, has called out the Opposition to boycott the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony. Speaking exclusively to Rajdeep Sardesai, Uma Bharti said that the opposition parties got an opportunity to attend the event and were given an invitation but they willingly decided not to go because they were eyeing the vote bank.

She also said that the Opposition had no reason to worry about the BJP gaining electoral mileage out of the event as they could have gotten the same.

“If Sonia Gandhi will be there the focus will be more on her. So if they are jealous of the focus and attention (being given to PM Modi) let them sit there. Mamata Banerjee and Sonia Gandhi will get more focus actually,” she said.

“Narendra Modi is not sitting for the focus there because he is always on the focus and on the eyes. But my eyes at least will be on the Prime Minister and on the Ram Lalla,” she added.
