UP MLAs, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to visit Ram Mandir today


Several members of both Houses of the Uttar Pradesh legislature, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will visit the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya today.  The lawmakers were invited by Chief Minister and UP Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana to offer prayers at the newly inaugurated temple. Majority of the members are expected to reach Ram Mandir, while Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav declined the invitation.

BJP has 252 MLAs in the assembly, its ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) has 13, Nishad party and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) has six each. On the opposition side, Samajwadi Party has 108 MLAs, Rashtriya Lok Dal has nine, Congress has two, Jansatta Dal Loktantrik has two and Bahujan Samaj Party has one MLA. However, it is unclear how many MLAs will be visiting Ram Mandir.
