Video: Large gatherings banned in Delhi ahead of farmers’ march


The Delhi Police on Monday imposed a ban on large gatherings across the national capital till March 12 amidst concerns of potential unrest and security issues surrounding the farmers’ march on Tuesday (February 13).

The order issued by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora also bans rallies and entry of tractors into the national capital. There is a complete ban on carrying fire arms and inflammable substances, as well as makeshift weapons like bricks and stones, and the collection of petrol cans or soda bottles.

The use of loudspeakers has also been banned.

Farmers will march to Delhi on February 13 to press the Centre to accept several demands, including enactment of a law to guarantee MSP for crops. Samyukta Kisan Morcha leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal claimed more than 200 farmers’ unions from across the country will participate in the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march.
