Video: Security beefed up at Singhu border ahead of farmers’ protest

Security arrangements have been stepped up by police ahead of the farmers’ call to the “Chalo Delhi” march. Farmers have left for Delhi on Monday and will march to Delhi on Tuesday (February 13).

Farmers will press the Centre to accept several demands, including enactment of a law to guarantee MSP for crops. Samyukta Kisan Morcha leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal claimed more than 200 farmers’ unions from across the country will participate in the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march.

Ahead of the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march by farmer unions, authorities in Haryana and Delhi fortified their borders with neighboring states by putting up concrete blocks, road spike barriers, and barbed wires to prevent the entry of vehicles and deploying thousands of police personnel, besides imposing prohibitory orders.
