6 children hospitalised in Andhra Pradesh after incorrect injections administered


Medical negligence in Andhra Pradesh’s Machilipatnam puts children in the region through suffering. Six children fell ill and were eventually hospitalised as incorrect injections were administered at the Sarvajan Government Hospital.

Among the affected, there were four infants and two children. The victims of wrong medication are identified as eight-month-old Gayatri, 14-month-old Pardhu, Ayan, 1, Yoshita Naga Manikantha, 1, Mohammad Rehan, 6, Varshita Krishna, 8.

The incident occurred during routine procedures on Friday night, when doctors administered injections as usual. However, within half an hour, alarming symptoms manifested in the children, including severe cold and high fever that prompted immediate medical attention.

The medical staff in the hospital transferred six of the affected children to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for further observation and treatment. However, all the victims in the medical negligence are in a stable condition.
