Akhilesh Yadav takes a jibe at Yogi Adityanath: ‘Khandan badhane ke liye….’

A video clip of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has gone viral on social media, in which he appears to be taking a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Vidhan Sabha during a discussion in the Budget session.

In the viral video, also shared on the official X handle of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav can be seen making a witty remark directed at Yogi Adityanath for his previous comments on former Chief Minister’s uncle Shivpal Yadav.

In a veiled jibe at Yogi Adityanath for his comment on Shivpal Yadav, Akhilesh said, “Baat khandan tak pahunchi hai to khandan badhane ke liye bhi kuchh karna chahiye. Jahan tak baat pahunchani hai, pahunch chuki hai (If the matter has reached the family, then something should be done to expand the family. As far as the matter needs to reach, it has already reached)”.

A moment of amusement swept through the House as Akhilesh Yadav’s witty remarks prompted laughter, with even Yogi Adityanath seen chuckling in response.

During his speech in the Assembly, Akhilesh Yadav also criticised the “big Budget” presented by the Uttar Pradesh government, saying it means nothing if the state government chooses to spend it covertly. “The government does not provide information about how much has been spent of the amount allocated,” the former Chief Minister said.

Furthermore, Akhilesh Yadav hit out at Yogi Adityanath over his earlier remark that the state had lost its identity under the Samajwadi Party rule.

“The government is saying that earlier there was an identity crisis in Uttar Pradesh, I don’t know why it is said so. Uttar Pradesh, which has given the maximum number of prime ministers to the country, every standard of the country is directly related to Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

“If anyone is creating an identity crisis for Uttar Pradesh, it is your government. You had said that you would build an expressway to connect Jhansi to Delhi, why have you not been able to build it till now? Why couldn’t the metro be built?” he asked.
