Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP party to contest all Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, snubs Congress

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said there will be no alliance with INDIA in Punjab, adding that his party will contest all the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state and Chandigarh in the upcoming general elections. This came as a major snub to the opposition INDIA bloc.

“AAP will declare candidates for the 13 seats in Punjab and one in Chandigarh in the coming days,” he said during his speech in Khanna in Punjab on Saturday.

The AAP chief is in Punjab and launching different government schemes, with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

“The more you make our hands stronger, the more work we will be able to do,” the AAP chief added during the speech.

Addressing the people, he said, “Two years ago, younhad blessed us with 92 out of 117 seats in Punjab. Now, I have come here to ask for your blessings again with folded hands.”

Recently, AAP MP Sandeep Pathak had said that the party would contest on three seats in Assam for the Lok Sabha election. He had said that the talks with the INDIA bloc, which were going on for months, didn’t have any breakthrough. However, he had added that AAP was “completely with the INDIA alliance” and had urged them to expedite the seat negotiation process.
