Man befriends cop disguising religion in Bihar on pretext of marriage, arrested

Bihar Police arrested an individual accused of faking his identity and his religion in a bid to befriend a woman constable on the pretext of marriage. The accused, identified as S Ansari, was arrested after a first information report (FIR) was filed by the woman cop.

The complaint alleged that the accused even blackmailed the constable after she had allegedly cut all ties with him. She mentioned that she broke ties after she had found out about his religion.

The relationship based on his fake identity continued for a year, following which the complainant initiated action.

The FIR, accessed by India Today, even stated that the accused had created fake social media accounts in his fake name. The accused even shared their pictures on the fake account.

The document further stated that Ansari abused the complainant and her mother time and again. He resorted to monetary extortion, as stated in the FIR, to which the complainant had to unwillingly yield.

Patna SSP Rajeev Mishra on Saturday confirmed the arrest and said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
